Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes, Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore is an IRS registered 501(c)3 organization. We are profiled on GuideStar, an online database of verified legal non-profits.

Where is Friends of the Homeless on the South Shore located?

Our mailing address is PO Box 202, Weymouth, MA 02191. You may also call us at 781-340-1604. However, we have shelters in Weymouth, Hingham, and Norwell, Massachusetts. Due to our guest’s privacy, we do not publically display our locations.

Does Friends of the Homeless pick up donations?

Unfortunately, Friends of the Homeless is not equipped to pick up donations at this time. However, you may drop off your donations by calling 781-340-1604 and scheduling an appointment. We hope to eventually change this policy.

When can I drop off donations?

Call 781-340-1604 to set up an appointment for Monday through Friday.

Does Friends of the Homeless take clothes?

Currently, we do not accept clothing. However, there are excellent organizations that do. These include Teen Challenge of New England (Brockton or Dorchester); Good Will (Quincy); and Salvation Army, (Norwell or Brockton).

Does Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore accept furniture?

Due to the Coronovirus pandemic, we were forced to close our furniture bank. The good news is we were able to move our administrative building over to the furniture bank and open up another family shelter space.

Do you accept appliances?

Usually, no. However, if you need to clarify the donation, please feel free to call 781-340-1604.
